Glen Dhu Students Have Got It in the Bag

When students at Glen Dhu Public School began to share their concern for children in the Horn of Africa, teacher Garry Howe listened. Together they organized the "Bags of Hope" project, rallying their school community to make a difference for children in their own backyard as well as for those experiencing famine and conflict in East Africa. water truckingAmong its many responses to the crisis in the Horn of Africa, World Vision is trucking in clean water to 19 communities twice a week. Water trucking allows communities, like this one near the Dadaab Refugee Camp, to stay put which means children can stay in school.

Freeze Mob for the Horn of Africa

Donating money is important for emergency relief efforts, but people often ask what else they can do to help. Without funds, lives cannot be saved, but without awareness injustices remain silent. We need both. On August 27, 150 youth and strangers showed up in a Vancouver food court to take action by raising awareness. Inspiring!
